Questions before ordering
Photo and portrait FAQ
What kind of pet can you paint?
Dogs and cats are most common, but we can also paint birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, horses, and other companions when the reference photo shows their features clearly.
Can you work from an old or imperfect photo?
Often, yes. We can use several photos together and may carefully restore an older image before painting. Send the clearest photos you have; we will contact you if an important feature cannot be seen.
Is the portrait painted or printed?
The miniature ornamental-frame portraits are painted by hand in acrylic. Royal portraits are digitally handmade and supplied as a digital file, print, or canvas.
Is the hand-painted portrait made by a real artist?
Yes. An artist paints each miniature portrait in acrylic from your reference photos. It is an original physical painting, not a printed transfer. Royal portraits are a separate digitally handmade collection and are clearly labelled as digital files, prints, or canvases.
Will I see the portrait before it ships?
Yes. We email a proof for approval. You can approve it online or request a minor adjustment before the artwork dries and is prepared for shipping.
Does my custom pet portrait include a frame?
Yes. Every hand-painted miniature portrait includes the ornamental resin frame and metal stand you select. The portrait arrives ready to display, and free worldwide delivery is included.
